The floral design printed both on the front (hollow) and back(filled up) in the middle of the vertical band next to the watermark window has the denominational numeral 10. Half the numeral printed on the obverse and half on the reverse. Both the printed portions have an accurate back to back registration so that the numeral appears as one when viewed against the light.

The portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the multi-directional lines and an electrotype mark showing the denominational numeral 10 appear in this section and these can be viewed better when the banknote is held against light.

3. Fluorescence

Fluorescence number panels of the banknote are printed in fluorescentink. The banknote has optical fibres. Both can be seen when the banknote is viewed under ultraviolet light.

4. Security Thread

1.4mm wide security thread with inscriptions means "Bharat in the Devanagari script" and RBI. The thread fluoresces in yellow on both sides under ultraviolet light. The thread is visible as a continuous line from behind when held up against light.

The letters, RBI can be viewed with the help of a magnifying glass in the zone between the Mahatma Gandhi portrait and the vertical band and above the legend Reserve Bank of India and below the signa-ture of the Governor.
